Currently, I’m a postdoctoral researcher at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel.

March 2021 till present

Postdoctoral Researcher CAU

In my position as postdoctoral researcher, I work with a comprehensive corpus of natural conversation in order to identify phonological parameters important for speaker change. In this, I supervise student assistants in data annotation in concordance with guidelines established for our project. Based on this, I develop perceptual experiments that are designed to test the relevance of certain intonational aspects for the organisational structure of talk-in-interaction. In close collaboration with research partners in Sweden, we aim at a cross-linguistic approach to compare Swedish and German speakers in the deployment of intonational patterns. The cooperation is manifested not only in regular exchange but also in travels to Sweden.

Not least important is the work on my PhD project for which I analysed recordings of spoken language to identify certain phones as belonging to phonemic categories.
